Breathable 8000gm/m2/24

Breathable 8000gm/m2/24 icon.

As important as the waterproof properties of a technical garment are it’s breathable properties.

This is the ability of the fabric to wick (move) moisture (perspiration) from the inside of the garment to the outside so keeping the wearer dry and warm.

A very active person can perspire up to 1 litre in an hour - the fabric we use has the ability to wick away up to 8 litres of moisture in a 24 hour period.

All of our technical snow clothing uses fabric with very high breathability levels.

iSystem interface

iSystem interface icon.

To enable the ‘iPod generation’ to stay wired for sound, some White Rock jackets now come iPod enabled.

The iSystem allows the wearer to play/pause, skip forward/backwards and control volume as they blast down the slopes!

Teflon Coated

Teflon Coated icon.

These hats will keep you dry. The fabric is Teflon coated and is therefore water and stain resistant.

Micro Fibre 8000

Micro Fibre 8000 icon.

This soft, tactile fabric has great ‘handle’ (feel) but it’s also highly technical.

It has the ability to remain waterproof even in the worse of weather and this ability is measured by applying water at pressure over a given period of time. The fabric we use has a ‘hydrostatic head’ of 8,000mm…this means it has the ability to withstand the water pressure exerted by an 8 meter high drain pipe full of water for a 24 hour period!

Bottom line - you’ll stay dry wearing one of our jackets!

SPF30+/UPF50+

360° stretch

360° stretch icon.

Self explanatory really but be aware that some ‘stretch’ fabric on the market only stretches in 2 ways or 4 ways…our fabric stretches ALL ways and so moves better with you!

Anti-Bacterial Headband

Anti-Bacterial Headband icon.

The hat will stay ‘sweet’. The inner headband is anti-bacterially treated which means it will reduce odour.

3 in 1

3 in 1 icon.

This highly adaptable jacket comes with a second ‘zip out’ inner jacket that can be worn either as an additional layer of insulation or worn totally separately - so you can wear the shell, the inner jacket or combine the two - hence 3 in 1…giving you the ability to adapt better to your environment.

'Drop down' pass pocket

'Drop down' pass pocket icon.

Ski resorts use a number of different methods for checking ski lift passes. Most of our jackets have a drop down pass pocket which allows the wearer to show their pass with the minimum of hassle and still have it remain totally safe and secure.

It’s located near the lower front hem of the jacket…simply slide in your pass, release the Velcro and your pass is exposed for all to see!

Chin strap

Hydro Cool Crystals

Hydro Cool Crystals icon.

These hats will actively cool you. There are special ‘water loving’ Hydro Cool crystals stitched into the front of the inner headband of the hat.

If you need to cool down simply soak the front section of the headband in water for about 3 minutes - the crystals will absorb and retain the water. Put the hat on and feel the immediate cooling effect.

Depending on the temperature the Hydro Cool crystals will keep cooling you for days and are fully re-useable – simply re- hydrate the crystals as above. The Hydro Cool crystals are non-toxic,non-flammable and non-hazardous.

The hat contains a ‘hidden’ pocket in its crown, big enough to hold a passport or money.

Hydration pouch pocket

Hydration pouch pocket icon.

Having carried hydration pouches for a number of years and had the frustration of the hydration tube freezing (even when insulated) we added this additional pocket. It will hold a 1-1.5 litre hydration pouch and has routing for the tube to be held in place inside the jacket. Alternatively put your sandwiches in it!

Mesh lined

Mesh lined jackets increase the air flow and help with wicking.

Fleece lined

Pit zips

Pit zips icon.

If you are really exerting yourself and get too warm you can adjust the thermal retention of your garment by simply opening these vents, generally located under the arms.

Most of our pit zips are mesh lined so whilst they let the air in they don’t let in any snow should you take a dive!

Integral zip off hood

Integral zip off hood icon.

Adds to the adaptability of this garment…if you don’t need the hood then just zip it off and stash it in any of the pockets.

Recco

Fully taped

Fully taped icon.

In order to remain totally waterproof a garment must have taped seams. A garment made from waterproof fabric is only waterproof if all the seams are taped.

All the seams on our garments are fully taped (just count the number of seams on a jacket to understand how time consuming this is during production!).

Some companies believe that only ‘critical’ seams need taping - we don’t…by taping all the seams we can ensure that our garments are fully waterproof so you stay dry.

Reversible
